Total transparency

How Fixoo verifies its professionals

Many platforms talk about trust. Here we explain exactly what we check, when, how and against which criteria. Because promising is good. Proving is better.

Fixoo. One click, one pro, zero hassle.

Trust is something you prove

On Fixoo, not all tradespeople are certified to the same level. That's why every profile clearly shows its verification status. You know exactly what has been checked and what hasn't yet been.

We never present a tradesperson as "insured" or "certified" until we have verified the corresponding documents. If a profile only shows "Registered profile", it means the email, phone, identity, CBE number and active company status have been verified, but not the insurance or trade documents yet.

The 5 Fixoo certification levels

Each level is earned after specific checks. A tradesperson can appear on the platform from level 1, but the "Fixoo Certified" badge only appears from level 5 onwards.

1

Registered profile

Basic verification
  • Email verified via confirmation link
  • Phone verified via SMS or call
  • ID document (ID card or passport) checked
  • CBE number (Crossroads Bank for Enterprises) verified
  • Active company status checked
  • Profile visible on the platform

All these checks are carried out before the profile is published. The tradesperson can receive requests but does not yet have a badge.

2

Insured professional

Professional liability policy
  • Professional liability insurance certificate provided
  • Policy validity checked (dates and amounts)
  • Consistency between insurer and company
  • "Insured" badge appears on the profile

The certificate must be renewed every year. A reminder is sent 30 days before expiry.

3

Trade documents verified

Qualifications and approvals
  • Trade documents (qualifications, approvals, certifications) verified
  • Financial situation of the company checked (no recent bankruptcy)
  • Manager's history checked (no conviction for fraud)
  • Online reputation analysed

In-depth checks carried out by our team using official sources.

4

Verified reviews

Authenticated client feedback
  • Client reviews collected after each job
  • Each review is verified (linked to a real job)
  • Average rating calculated from verified reviews

Only reviews linked to a confirmed job are taken into account.

5

Certified professional

Fixoo Certified + badge
  • At least 10 verified reviews on the profile
  • A rating above 4.5/5 maintained
  • All checks from levels 1 to 3 validated
  • Active liability insurance (level 2)
  • "Fixoo Certified" badge awarded

This level is automatically revoked if the average rating drops below 4.5/5, if complaints are confirmed, or if the insurance expires.

How often are checks carried out?

At sign-up

Email, phone, ID document, CBE number and active company status are verified before the profile is published.

Annually

The professional liability insurance certificate must be renewed every year. A reminder is sent 30 days before expiry.

Continuously

Reviews, complaints and ratings are monitored permanently. A tradesperson can be suspended at any time.

On complaint

Every complaint from a homeowner is handled within 48 hours. In-depth checks are relaunched if necessary.

Which sources are checked?

Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (CBE) Business number, legal status, activities, registered office address
Professional liability insurer Insurance certificate provided by the tradesperson, validity checked with the insurer
ID document Belgian ID card or passport, visual check by our team
National Bank of Belgium (NBB) Financial situation, social and tax debts, bankruptcy proceedings
Online reputation Search in public registers, Google reviews, social media and press
Trade qualifications and approvals Diplomas, professional certifications, regional approvals (EPB, VCA, etc.)

Under what conditions is reimbursement granted?

Fixoo is not a payment intermediary. The tradesperson and the client enter into a direct contract. However, if a job carried out via Fixoo goes wrong, we support the client through the process:

  1. Report within 14 days of the job via our complaint form.
  2. Fixoo mediation: our team contacts the tradesperson to find an amicable solution (redoing the work, partial or full refund).
  3. Suspension of the tradesperson if the complaint is justified and the tradesperson refuses to cooperate.
  4. Legal support: referral to the relevant authorities (consumer mediation, justice of the peace) if no solution is found.
  5. Tradesperson's liability insurance: we help the client activate the tradesperson's professional liability insurance for covered damages.

Fixoo takes no commission on the work and is not a party to the contract. Our role is to facilitate resolution, not to replace insurance or the courts.
